1 Primary treatment process and its development trend
The first-stage enhanced treatment technology is divided into two categories: one focuses on physical and chemical mechanisms, and the other focuses on the principle of flocculation and adsorption of microorganisms. The primary treatment processes studied at home and abroad are mainly as follows.
1.1 Activated Sludge Process
The activated sludge method is based on the flocculation kinetics and biological adsorption theory to propose a "flocculation adsorption-sedimentation-activation" municipal wastewater enhanced primary treatment process. The enhanced effect of this process on pollutants removal mainly includes sludge flocculation, adsorption and biological metabolism.
The characteristic of this process is that the raw sewage water without sedimentation and biological sludge enter the mixing reactor (flocculation adsorption tank) at the same time, and the two are fully mixed under the action of mechanical stirring. After sufficient flocculation adsorption reaction, a large amount of pollutants are flocculated and adsorbed. After entering the sludge floc, the effluent enters the sedimentation tank to achieve solid-liquid separation, and the effluent from the sedimentation tank is the final effluent (see Figure 1). In order to restore the biological flocculation and adsorption activity of the saturated sludge in the sedimentation tank, the sedimented sludge was activated by aeration for a short period of time to partially degrade the adsorbed organic matter and generate an appropriate amount of microbial flocculants to improve the sedimentation performance of the sludge while maintaining the sludge's good Oxygen state, avoid darkening and stink. This process is carried out in a sludge activation tank, and the energy consumption is much lower than the secondary biological oxidation reaction. This process is a new type of practical technology suitable for environmental conditions that need to be improved and economically underdeveloped areas.
